Torn your frock or moths eaten your sweater? Don't throw it away or hide a mend - use stitch to give it a second, even better life!
In this class Annie will show you various stitching techniques so you’ll learn how to mend items of clothing that have a tear or stain and turn what was a throw-away into a fabulous feature garment. Instead of trying to hide the mend, use colour and texture to make a beautiful feature and revive that old favourite you can’t bear to part with.
Methods taught will include darning, embroidered motifs and decorative patches used in various cultures. You are welcome to bring along an item you’d like to mend and Annie will help decide which technique will suit & help you on your way. Or you can focus on trying samples of each technique so you have the knowledge at a later date.
All materials and tools will be supplied on the day along with light refreshments (BYO lunch).
