Relax and enjoy the spectacular vista of the City skyline as you paint at this iconic location in the Matilda Bay Reserve on the banks of the Swan River. This location offers a myriad of different subject matter, the sparkling water, abundant wildlife, colourful boats or focus in on the interesting barks of the magnificent gum trees.
If you want to immerse yourself in nature and art, our outdoor sessions are perfect for you. You don’t need to have ever held a paintbrush. All you need is a willingness to learn and express yourself! Acrylic paints used in this session.
Notes on this location
Located in the Matilda Bay Reserve, Nedlands between the Matilda Bay Restaurant and the Bayside Kitchen Cafe. Car parking available alongside the Reserve on Hackett Drive. Park south of the the Bayside Kitchen.

Guided step-by-step instruction and expert tuition from our experienced Artist.
Use of all materials provided including ‘en plein air’ box easel, optional stool, drawing materials, canvas, paints, brushes, palettes, water containers, rags and apron.

What to bring
Sunscreen and hat

A small stool is provided but you are welcome to bring along your own.
What to wear
An apron is provided but wear clothes that you don’t mind getting paint on. Although acrylic and watercolour paints are water-soluble, some pigments can be difficult to remove.
Weather appropriate clothing. and sturdy footwear suited to walking.
